About Bovilla Guides

Bovilla Guides is a small, independent tour operator based in Tirana, Albania. We run guided day-trips to Lake Bovilla, Mount Gamti, and Krujë — three places less than an hour from the capital that most visitors miss because the road in scares off rental cars and the trail isn't on the standard Tirana tour circuit.

We started this site for a simple reason: the existing tour pages for Bovilla read like brochures. They oversell, they hide the unpaved road, they don't tell you that swimming is prohibited or that the upper viewing platform costs 100 LEK extra. We thought a more honest write-up would help travellers actually decide whether the trip is for them — and we figured the people best placed to write it were the ones driving the road every week.

How we operate

• Registered: Bovilla Guides Sh.p.k., a licensed tour operator registered in Tirana, Albania.
• Office: Rruga Murat Toptani 14, Tirana.
• Vehicles: air-conditioned vans for the Classic and Bovilla & Krujë tours; quad bikes (ATVs) for the Bovilla Lake ATV adventure. Maintained and inspected to Albanian commercial-passenger standards.
• Languages: our guides operate in English, Albanian, and Italian. Other languages on request.
• Pickup areas: central Tirana for the Classic and ATV tours; Tirana, Durrës, Golem and Qerret for the Bovilla & Krujë tour.
• Group sizes: capped at 12 guests on every tour — we don't run coach tours.

What we will not do

• We do not run tours when the forecast includes thunderstorms on Mount Gamti. We reschedule or refund.
• We do not sell add-ons mid-tour. The price you book is the price you pay.
• We do not take groups of more than 12 even when asked. Larger groups change the character of the trail.
• We do not store payment cards on our servers. Payments are handled by Stripe, and we receive only the confirmation.
